  • * Knowledge of computer operation with a typing speed of 40 w.p.m. on computer.
  • * Minimum 5 years’ regular service in the cadre of Private Secretary/Senior PA/PA/ Senior Stenographer in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Statutory bodies.

Pay Scale

* Pay Level 11 of Pay Matrix with an initial basic pay of Rs.67,700/- plus other admissible allowances under the rules.


Scheme of Examination

* Shorthand (English) Test: 120 w.p.m. for 7 minutes, 45 minutes transcription, max 5% mistakes (Max 100 marks, Min 50 qualifying).
* Objective Type Written Test: 100 MCQs (General English, General Knowledge, Judiciary in Constitution, Supreme Court Rules 2013, Computer operation knowledge) for 2 hours (Max 100 marks, Min 50 for General, 45 for reserved).
* Typing Speed Test on Computer: Min 40 w.p.m. for 10 minutes, max 2% mistakes for General, 3% for reserved (Max 20 marks, Min 10 for General, 5 for reserved).
* Interview: (Max 30 marks, Min 15 for General, 13 for reserved).
* Additional 03 marks awarded for candidates possessing a Degree in Law (BGL/LLB Academic).


Age Relaxation

* Usual age relaxation admissible to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Disabilities, Ex-servicemen, and dependents of Freedom Fighters as per Government of India Rules.
* No upper age limit for departmental candidates of the Supreme Court Registry.
* No age relaxation for candidates working in other Government Departments.


Shortlisting Criteria

* Candidates qualifying Shorthand (English) Test and Objective Type Written Test may be called for Typing Speed Test in a 1:10 ratio against vacancies.
* Those qualifying Typing Speed Test may be called for Interview in a 1:3 ratio against vacancies.
* Candidates qualifying Interview will be empanelled based on merit, but mere placement does not confer any right to claim appointment.


Reservation Policy

* Benefit of reservation in accordance with Rule 4A of the Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961.
* Applicable to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) only.
* OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must be possessed and submitted as on 01.07.2025.


Exam Centers

* Shorthand (English) Test and Objective Type Written Test will be conducted in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
* Typing Speed Test on Computer and Interview will be conducted in Delhi only.
* Candidates must exercise option to select cities in order of preference, but may be shifted due to administrative reasons.


Important Instructions

* Admission at all stages of examination is purely provisional, subject to satisfying prescribed eligibility conditions and furnishing documentary proof at the time of interview.
* Online application requires uploading scanned photograph, signature, and requisite documents; once submitted, the application cannot be withdrawn or modified.
* Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances, including for multiple applications or incorrect category payments.
* Penalty for misconduct (impersonation, fabricated documents, false information, etc.) includes removal, disqualification, prosecution, and debarment for future appointment.
* No TA/DA will be payable to candidates for appearing in the tests/interview.
* Admit Cards for all stages must be downloaded from the Supreme Court Website; no physical admit cards will be sent by post.
* Candidates working in State/Central Govt./PSUs etc. will be required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer at the time of interview.
* The Registry reserves the right to short-list candidates in any manner and to modify the method of selection at any point of time.
* In case of any dispute(s), the jurisdiction will be Delhi.
