Eligibility

  • Office Assistants (Multipurpose)*: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.
  • * Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s.
  • * Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.
  • Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)*: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.
  • * Preference for degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.
  • * Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s.
  • * Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.
  • Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)*: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • * Preference for degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • * Post Qualification Experience: Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
  • Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager)*:
  • Information Technology Officer*: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc. Post Qualification Experience: One year (in the relevant field).
  • Chartered Accountant*: Certified Associate from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Post Qualification Experience: One Year as a Chartered Accountant.
  • Law Officer*: Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Post Qualification Experience: Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period of not less than two years.
  • Treasury Manager*: Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution. Post Qualification Experience: One Year (in the relevant field).
  • Marketing Officer*: MBA in Marketing from a recognized university. Post Qualification Experience: One Year (in the relevant field).
  • Agricultural Officer*: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Post Qualification Experience: Two Years (in the relevant field).
  • Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)*: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Participating RRBs

* The notification lists 28 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across various States/UTs including Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Bihar Gramin Bank, Karnataka Grameena Bank, Punjab Gramin Bank, Rajasthan Gramin Bank, Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, and West Bengal Gramin Bank.
* Each RRB has a specified Head Office and desired local language proficiency requirements (e.g., Telugu for Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank, Hindi for Bihar Gramin Bank, Kannada for Karnataka Grameena Bank, Bengali for West Bengal Gramin Bank).


Eligibility Criteria - Nationality / Citizenship

* A candidate must be:
* A Citizen of India, OR
* A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, OR
* A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with permanent settlement intention, OR
* A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries (Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam) with permanent settlement intention.
* For categories (ii) to (v), a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India is required.


Eligibility Criteria - Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

* Reservation is provided under Section 34 of "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016" for persons with benchmark disabilities (minimum 40% of specified disability).
* Categories include Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impaired (HI), Orthopedically Challenged/Locomotor Disability (OC/LD), Intellectual Disability (ID), and Multiple Disabilities.
* Detailed definitions and eligibility for each disability category are provided.
* Guidelines for the use of a scribe and compensatory time are specified, including qualifications for the scribe and required certificates (Appendix-I & II).
* Reservation is for irreversible permanent disability, not temporary certificates.


Eligibility Criteria - Definition of Ex-Servicemen (ESM)

* Defines Ex-Servicemen (ESM), Disabled Ex-Servicemen (DESM), and Dependents of Servicemen killed in action.
* Age relaxation is provided for ESM (actual service + 3 years, max 50 years for Office Assistants; 5 years for Officers) and for Widows/Divorced women for Office Assistants (upto 35/38/40 years based on category).
* Specific Proforma A, B, C, D certificates are required for different categories of serving/retired/disabled ESM.
* ESM who have already secured employment under Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ may avail age relaxation for higher grades but not reservation benefit on a second occasion.


Eligibility Criteria - Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

* Identifies EWS as persons not covered under SC/ST/OBC whose family gross annual income is below Rs. 8.00 lakh, from the financial year prior to application.
* Excludes families owning or possessing 5 acres of agricultural land or above, residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. or above, residential plot of 100 sq. yards or above in notified municipalities, or 200 sq. yards or above in other areas.
* An Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the prescribed format is required.


Eligibility Criteria - Credit History

* Candidates are required to maintain a healthy Credit history at the time of joining the Participating RRBs, with minimum credit score as per RRB policy.
* If CIBIL status is not updated, candidates must get it updated or produce NOCs from lenders.
* This requirement is not a pre-condition to apply and does not apply to candidates with no Bank account.


Online Examination Structure

* **Preliminary Examination (Objective)**: For Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale-I. Consists of Reasoning and Numerical/Quantitative Ability (40 questions each, 40 marks each) for a total of 80 questions and 80 marks.
* **Main Examination (Objective)**: For Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale-I. Consists of Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, English/Hindi Language, and Numerical/Quantitative Ability/Data Interpretation (40 questions each, varying marks) for a total of 200 questions and 200 marks, with 120 minutes duration.
* **Single Level Examination (Objective)**: For Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer) and Officer Scale-III. Consists of Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Financial Awareness, English/Hindi Language, and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (40 questions each, varying marks) for a total of 200 questions and 200 marks, with 120 minutes duration.
* **Single Level Examination (Objective)**: For Officer Scale-II (Specialist Cadre). Consists of Professional Knowledge, Reasoning, Financial Awareness, English/Hindi Language, Computer Knowledge, and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (total 240 questions, 200 marks, 150 minutes duration).
* **Penalty for Wrong Answers**: One-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
* **Medium of Examination**: Available in English, Hindi, and various local languages depending on the State/UT.


Examination Centres

* Online examinations will be conducted at various tentative centres across India, listed in Annexure II.
* No request for change of centre will be entertained; IBPS reserves the right to cancel/add centres or allot candidates to a different centre.


Pre-Examination Training (PET)

* Online PET may be arranged for a limited number of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD for Office Assistants, and SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities for Officer Scale-I.
* Eligible candidates must opt for PET in their online application.


Interview

* Applicable only for Officers Scale I, II, and III.
* Candidates shortlisted from the Online Main/Single examination will be called for an interview coordinated by Nodal RRBs.
* The total marks for the interview are 100, with minimum qualifying marks of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
* The relative weightage of Online Examination and Interview for Officers cadre is 80:20.
* Candidates must produce valid prescribed documents in original and self-attested photocopies at the time of interview.


Provisional Allotment

* Provisional allotment to one of the RRBs will be based on merit-cum-preference, actual vacancies, and Government Guidelines on reservation.
* For Officers Scale I and Office Assistants, allotment is restricted within the RRBs of the opted State.
* Provisional allotment is final and binding; no requests for change will be entertained. A reserve list will also be maintained.


Identity Verification

* Candidates must present a valid photo identity proof (e.g., PAN Card, Passport, DL, Voter's Card, Aadhaar/E-Aadhaar) along with the call letter and its photocopy at the examination and interview.
* Ration Card and Learner's Driving License are not accepted.
* Biometric data (Right thumb impression) and photograph will be captured and verified at different stages of the selection process. Aadhaar verification may also be conducted online.


Items Not Allowed Inside the Examination Centre

* Prohibited items include stationery (textual material, calculator, pen drives, etc.), communication devices (mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphones), certain personal items (goggles, handbags, hairpin, belt, cap, ornaments, watch, camera), metallic items, and any open or packed eatable items.


Action against Candidates Found Guilty of Misconduct/ Use of Unfair Means

* Strict penalties for unfair means include criminal prosecution, disqualification from the current exam, debarment from future IBPS examinations, and termination of service if already appointed.
* The 'Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024' makes offences cognizable, non-bailable, and non-compoundable. Specific unfair means are detailed, including leakage of papers, impersonation, tampering with documents, and misuse of technology.
